LOW VOC PAINT COLORANTS

Heubach has developed two ranges viz. Colanyl 500 and Hostatint 500 pigment preparations with low VOC for paint systems.

Both product ranges are ranges of aqueous, binder-free pigment preparations and manufactured without using ethoxylated alkyl phenol (APEO) additives, Colanyl 500 and Hostatint 500 can be used for in-plant tinting and in Pointof-Sale machines (POS).

We offer 20 organic, 9 inorganic preparations, and 1 extender from Colanyl 500 range for all kinds of water-based paint decorative coatings.

Hostatint 500 range comprises of 17 organic, 9 inorganic. and 2 extenders for water-based and solvent-based decorative coatings.

COLANYL® 500 - TINTING PASTES
FOR LOW VOC WATER-BASED DECORATIVE PAINTS

  • Comprehensive range of binder-free aqueous pigment preparations for low VOC water-based decorative paints
  • Manufactured without using alkyl phenol ethoxylated (APEO) additives
  • Suitable for manual and automatic dispensing equipment
  • Extra narrow tolerances for exact color reproduction

APPLICATIONS

  • Decorative paints based on aqueous emulsion paints and plasters/renderings based on aqueous polymer dispersions.
  • Can be incorporated into aqueous wood stains, acrylic and polyester casting systems, latex, and water resistant inks; also compatible with other binder systems e. g. aqueous industrial paints.
  • Recommended to check the maximum dosage level and compatibility of Colanyl 100 preparations in your paint system.

MULTIPURPOSE TINTING PASTES

  • Binder-free pigment preparation range manufactured without using ethoxylated alkyl phenol (APEO) additives. These multipurpose preparations are compatible with water-based and solvent-based decorative coatings.
  • Compliant: VOC-free and no APEO
  • Suitable for automatic/manual dosing machines
APPLICATION
  • Preferred field of application of Hostatint 500 is decorative paints based on aqueous polymer dispersions of all kinds and long-oil alkyd resin paints.
  • May be fully compatible with other binder systems, e.g. industrial paints, but this has to be checked by trials.

HOSTATINT® A 100
HIGH QUALITY PIGMENT PREPARATION FOR
SOLVENT-BASED INDUSTRIAL COATINGS

The Hostatint A 100 pastes are solvent-containing pigment preparations based on a carrier resin (aldehyde resin) that was developed specially for industrial paint applications. The pastes are produced within narrow tolerances of shade and color strength allowing highly consistent paint production path with manual and automatic dispensers. The solvent and additives are carefully selected to avoid hazardous labelling or special storage requirements associated with their flammability. Hostatint A 100 shows good compatibility and can be added in the usual amounts to virtually all types of solvent-based industrial paint applications.

Heubach offers lead chrome-free pigments to the coating industry. We also help paint manufacturers by providing lead-free solutions. Our lead-free solutions are successfully accepted by most decorative, industrial paint manufacturers. 'Green Coatings' has become a buzz word in global paint industry in recent years. The toxic effects are mainly due to the organic solvents used in the paints, which evaporate during the drying process. As powder coating is a 'solvent-free' coating, it has a great potential as environment-friendly coating.

The powder coatings sector has also benefited by the favorable economic conditions in India, Growth, particularly in the white goods sector and metal furniture industry has triggered the demand for powder coatings in India.

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form.

The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a 'film'. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as 'whiteware' aluminium extrusions, and automobile and bicycle parts.
